This was me at 50 years old, just over a year ago (Nov 12/2012).

I was 30 pounds overweight, depressed, and felt worse than I’d ever felt in my life. I was so deeply unhappy and unhealthy that I remember I virtually HURT inside and out. Life just seemed painful…and then I was introduced to Shawna and her Challenge Workouts.

I own all Shawna’s programs and I love them all! Getting a new one is like opening a box of chocolates (fat free of course! duh!) – I look through thinking “ooh this one looks good, hmmm this one looks better – yeah, I’ll have this one!”. And because I do love a “straight-jacket” workout, I immediately look for the craziest, most insane Challenge there! My pick was The Ultimate Marathon – One Hundred timed Burpee/Chin ups. Finish time was 12.55 mins and I did modify the burpees due to an ongoing shoulder niggle.

I’m happy to say I absolutely smashed that workout – I’m sad to report that there were a few, but not too many, muttered obscenities as I hit the 70 mark. But hey, what’s a few naughty words when you’re conquoring an Ultimate Marathon! I’ve got my eye on the Burpee Box Jumps workout next so I expect more naughty little words to come out of my mouth as I smash that workout too!
