Bodyweight Burn Review

Why should you look at another program?

I recently had the good fortune to take a look at Adam Steer’s Bodyweight Burn. I’m often curious as to whether people get it right or not.

I figured you’d want me to weigh in on the program so here it is…

First off, who are the author’s Adam Steer and Ryan Murdock?

Well, if you look at their credentials, you’ll see that they have many letters behind their names…I checked them out and they’re solid in their educational background. I know it sounds elitist, but coming from an educational background, a few degrees, a diploma and too many certifications to mention, I value higher education. While I know that degrees and certifications aren’t the ‘be all end all’, they do offer some credibility. Adam and Ryan are well qualified, they  have you covered in the education department.

Moving on…

The program
I can say that there’s so much info, it may be a little overwhelming. You’ll need to give yourself a bit of time to unpack the program, this isn’t a bad thing necessarily, just a fact. But it’s very easy to follow. For example there are videos for every exercise. In addition, in the workout, each exercise is hyper-linked so that if you don’t know what it is, you click on the link and the video plays. That’s a pretty cool feature. The program is laid out well. You’ll know what to do each day of the week.

Another bonus is the fact that these dudes understand that you may already have a great program and you just want to supplement it with a few bodyweight workouts. They have a plan for you to do that with the ‘Integration Guide’.

Obviously, as the name implies, everything is body weight. If you want a body weight program, this is it. I learned a couple of new bodyweight moves as well.

For example, this is a new one for me: Stinger Push ups:

Begin on all fours, with your weight evenly distributed between your hands and feet. Keep your shoulders pulled down away from your ears, and maintain a straight line from crown to heels.

Lift one foot off the ground and drive it across your body underneath. The leg does not have to reach full extension. Turn your head to face the same direction as you lower your chest to the mat and then press back up. Return the leg to the starting position and repeat on the other side.

The Stinger Push Up is a great example of how you can use bodyweight training to add timing, coordination and deeper ranges of motion to link your strength and conditioning into real world movement patterns.

These dudes are creative.

Nutrition
I was impressed with the comprehensive nature of the program. Not only do you have the exercises/workouts, you’ll get a nutrition plan and a ton of easy to follow recipes (and you know my lack luster cooking skills-even I can do these recipes). Honestly, once you’re training with intensity, your nutrition is the deciding factor as to whether you can see your abs or fit into your jeans well.

Supplements overwhelm you? They have you covered there with a guide.

The price
Right now the program is competitively priced at $47. Considering all that you get, I’d say that Adam and Ryan over-deliver. Even if you only use the program to supplement your current one, if you just learn some new bodyweight moves, use the recipes or nutrition plan, or use any part of the bonuses, the program is well worth it.

Two thumbs up for Adam and Ryan’s Body Weight Burn.
